Jetlev Southwest is looking to fill several roles before the start of the summer season. One full-time office assistant and at least two part-time instructors and instructor assistants. Most likely, we will hire instructor assistants and promote from within to fill the instructor positions. OFFICE ASSISTANT

Position Summary

Provides a high level of service to all customers, via phone interactions and email correspondence, while maintaining thorough records of all sales and expenses and assisting with day-to-day office operations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

–          Answering phone calls and emails

–          Updating Sales and Expense reports

–          Reviewing flight calendar to determine which customers are pre-paid and which still owe money

–          Assigning GoPro memory cards to paying customers

–          Greeting customers before their flight time

–          Collecting flight payments, as necessary

–          Upselling to video packages

–          Overseeing sign-in and waiver signing

–          Showing training video

–          Directing customers to training area (providing map, if necessary)

–          Texting instructors with names of customers prior to arrival at the training location

–          Signing Pilot Certificates to give to first-time flyers

–          Burning DVDs from GoPro memory cards (providing DVD instruction sheet, if necessary)

–          Selling follow-up flight packages and merchandise

–          Encouraging customers to share photos and videos on Facebook page

Qualifications & Requirements:

–          Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint) required

–          Ability to multi-task required

–          Strong customer service skills required

–          Sales experience preferred

–          Reliable transportation and verifiable auto insurance required

–          Minimum 2 years experience working in a start-up office environment preferred

Hours & Compensation

Tuesday – Saturday (days)

8am – 6pm

Overtime paid after 8 hours

(Temporary to Hire)
$12.00/hr (plus free flight time)

 

 

CERTIFIED FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR

Position Summary

Provide safe, attentive instruction to all customers as they learn to fly the Jetlev, while monitoring other important aspects of the training process, such as fuel levels, GoPro camera settings, life vest fitting, equipment status, etc. Assist with set-up and clean-up before and after training sessions and demonstrate the flying ability of the Jetlev, as necessary. Position offers possible travel to other Jetlev flight centers to assist with operation training and set-up.

Duties & Responsibilities:

–          Preparing pontoon, jet ski and Jetlev for training day

–          Flying Jetlev to and from training area, as necessary

–          Equipment and safety overview

–          Operating remote throttle for all first-time flyers

–          Communicating with flyers via helmet walkie-talkies

–          Monitoring battery levels of radios, transmitter, helmets, etc.

–          Demonstrating the capabilities of the Jetlev for customers, television crews, etc.

–          Performing water rescues, as necessary

–          Cleaning Jetlev, flushing unit, washing hose and pack

–          Performing routine maintenance (filling fuel, changing oil, replacing spark plugs, etc.)

–          Bringing Jetlev gear up to the office after washing

Qualifications & Requirements:

–          Red Cross CPR certification required

–          Boat Captains License strongly preferred

–          Boat, Personal Watercraft experience required

–          Ability to multi-task required

–          Strong customer service skills required

–          Ability to handle stressful situations required

–          Patient, detail-oriented personality required

–          Reliable transportation and verifiable auto insurance required

–          Clean driving record required

–          Prior training/instruction experience preferred

Hours & Compensation

Tuesday, Thursdays, Saturdays (with additional days to be added as business increases)

8am – 6pm

Overtime paid after 8 hours

$15.00/hr (plus tips, free flight time, free CFI Level 2 certification – a $5k value)

 

 

FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR ASSISTANT

Position Summary

Provide great customer service to all customers to ensure their safety and maximize their enjoyment during the Jetlev Flight Experience. Greet customers as they arrive, assist with answering questions, fit customers in wetsuits and life vests, drive the jet ski to act as an in-water instructor, and oversee overall training environment on the beach. Position offers the ability to grow into a Certified Flight Instructor role.

Duties & Responsibilities:

–          Preparing pontoon, ski and Jetlev for training day

–          Driving pontoon to and from training area (captain’s license preferred)

–          Assisting with getting customers strapped into pack

–          Driving jet ski during customer training

–          Assisting with starting, stopping GoPro cameras

–          Monitoring Jetlev fuel level

–          Refueling Jetlev, as necessary

–          Unloading pontoon and assisting with clean-up

–          Assisting with flushing of Jetlev, washing hose and pack

–          Greeting customers as they arrive at the beach

–          Getting customers fitted in wetsuits and life vests

–          Ensuring next customer is ready to go when first customer completes flight

–          Switching GoPro memory cards for each customer

–          Ensuring helmets are powered up/down to save batteries

–          Answering customer questions

–          Keeping pontoon boat tidy

–          Hanging up wetsuits to dry

–          Going back to office, if necessary (charging batteries, getting spare parts, etc.)

–          Providing customers with GoPro memory cards in Ziploc bag and instructions to return to office to have files burned to DVD

–          Encouraging customers to purchase follow-up flights and merchandise

–          Washing down all wetsuits, life vests and helmets

Qualifications & Requirements:
